Our family of parishes, Downriver Vicariate Family 3, will now be known as Downriver Missionaries for Christ. Along with the new name, we have a new logo. We are excited about the name and logo and all it communicates about us as family – who we are and where we’re going! The water in the logo represents the waters of our baptism and the river that our family is named for. The boat communicates that we are fishers of men and joyful missionaries for Christ. As we evangelize, we need to put out into the deep and let down our nets for a catch. The purple, green and white in the sails represent the liturgical colors of church. And, of course, the cross on the sail reminds us that we are working for Jesus. The tagline Catholic Parishes Living Out Acts 29 might confuse you since there are only 28 chapters in the Acts of the Apostles. Acts 29 is you and I living out the next chapter – being joyful missionary disciples and proclaiming the Gospel in our everyday lives.
